Media Students visit Yemen TV

A visit to Yemen TV premises has been conducted on Thursday by the Media College students. Taking place within the context of the college’s practical program, the visit intended to give students knowledge about the channel and its different depts.
Helping students identify the functions of the channels various depts., the visit enabled them also to have an idea about the media map and policies that determine the mechanisms of the production and broadcasting systems such as program preparation and news editing.
Mr. Hussein Basaleem, Chairman of the TV Sector, briefed the students about the channel’s program map and the most prominent programs such as “Shu’on Albalad” (Nation’s Affairs) and the so-called program “Dhifaf” which, according to him, is currently in the pipeline.
Mr Basaleem praised the role of private sector in recruiting the media graduates who cannot find vacancies in the governmental one. He highlighted the significant role that Media first-batch students of Al-Nasser University—conducting the visit— are expected to play for the well being of their nation.
Dr. Mohammed Ala’awar, Dean of the Media College at the University stated: “We seek through this visit to develop the capabilities and skills of our students and to give them a reality-based knowledge.”
Students have expressed their happiness with the visit through which they could closely identify one of the most important Yemeni channels.
They, besides, thanked the Chairman of the TV Sector and the Dean of the Media College for escorting them throughout the visit.
