ANU Partakes in Academic Accreditation Self-Assessment Conference

Represented by a delegate that comprised Prof Abdullah Tahish (the Chancellor), Dr. Anwar Maso’ud (Director of Quality Unit), and Dr. Yasser El-Madhaji(Head of Pharmacy Department), Al-Nasser University participated in the first annual conference on “Academic Accreditation Standards Self-Assessment.” The conference was held at September 21 University during Feb 18-20, 2018.

Attending the opening session, the Prime Minister delivered a speech in which he confirmed that universities must cooperate for the sake of improving the educational process. They have also to share a mutual concept over fostering the human development and quality outcomes. He noted to the private universities’ vital role in admitting the students due to the shortage of seats in governmental universities. Stressing the importance of sticking to laws and regulations, he pointed out that private universities represent a significant partner to cope with the requirements of development as well as labor market through producing competent professionals.

Held under the motto, “Together toward Excellence, apart from Imitation,” the first annual conference intended to disseminate the concepts of quality and academic accreditation. It further aimed to improve the methodologies of higher education institutions, change the local and regional image of the Yemeni higher education, and foster the universities’ role in meeting the needs of the community.

With the participation of chairs representing state and private universities, quality executives, and academicians, the event tackled in its sessions various topics about self-assessment.
