Sixth Week of FMS Graduation Research Viva Sessions Concluded

Faculty of Medical Sciences at Al-Nasser University concluded on Sat, Sep 8, 2018

the sixth-week viva sessions organized by Research & Training Department for the graduating students of Pharmacy, Medical Lab, Nursing, and Community Health departments to defend their 2017/2018 graduation research projects.

Comprising 18 research groups, the viva sessions tackled topics of real significance to the community’s health. While conducting the studies, the research guides as well as students were keen enough to observe the proper scientific methodology so as to come up with accurate results and valuable recommendations.

According to Prof Omar El-Shuja’ (Instructor of Organic Chemistry at Thamar University), the research papers at Al-Nasser University are distinctly practical rather than theoretical as they are conducted using scientific research methodology. He noted to the merits and shortcomings occurring during the study which demand team work, cooperation, and integration of guides, deanship and university board to provide the research equipment and materials.

For his part, Dr. Tawfeeq El-Obaydi (the Pharmaceutical Chemistry specialist at Faculty of Pharmacy, Sana’a University) pointed out to Al-Nasser’s remarkable interest in scientific research which represents an important indicator of people’s progress.

He confirmed that the graduation research is an important stage where students learn a number of skills that they need for labor market. They must keep pace with every new development in their field of specialty so that they can apply knowledge to help their community.

The viva voce sessions were held at Faculty of Medical Sciences over five days. The research groups made presentations that summed up their findings to be discussed by the guides and assigned examination committees in brilliant academic atmospheres.
