ANU Aptech Students Partake in TECHWIZ-2019

In the presence of Dr. Abdullah Tahish (the Chancellor), the inaugural ceremony of Aptech international competition (TECHWIZ) was organized by Information Technology Department on March 25, 2019. Students of Al-Nasser Aptech are participating in the 2019 version of TECHWIZ.

TECHWIZ is an international technology activity organized by Aptech International Center for its branches all over the word. It aims to test the students’ information, develop their team work skills, offer an opportunity to show their talents, and assess their projects by Aptech experts. 375 teams from all over the world participate in the event. Of the 1800 participating students belonging to 13 different countries, 8 teams comprising 43 participants represent Al-Nasser Aptech center.

Delivering a speech in the inaugural function, Dr. Tahish noted to how the Yemeni student has the will, determination, and competence to prove his/her merit in all fields of specialty. He confirmed to students that they have the genius that will enable them to leave an outstanding imprint in Aptech competition. He also pointed out that Al-Nasser never spares an effort to support the students’ distinctive projects.

For his part, Dr. Qais Ennuzaili (Head of I T Department) appreciated the University’s support in organizing such activities that help students highlight their talents and competencies. He pointed out that the I T Department is working on unleashing the students’ potential as well as abilities so as to bring out their innovative skills locally and internationally.

He noted to how participating in the present international competition represents a chance for students to contact with the world on the rapidly developing technology. A maximum number of students were deliberately engaged in the activity so that they can enrich their practical experience for labor market.

As part of the inauguration, Mr. Fawaz Ha’el (Aptech Academic Head) presented a brief explanation about TECHWIZ: the competition mechanism, the span of time it lasts, and the internationally participating teams. Moreover, he listed the competition categories including: website designing, web application developing, and mobile programming. He clarified how the students’ ready projects are received and submitted to the specialists of Aptech Center in India for evaluation.

The event was held in the grand hall at the University’s headquarter in the presence of Dr. Anwar Maso’ud (Director of Quality Unit), Mr. Anwar Adam (the University’s IT Specialist), and a number of staff members in addition to I T students.
