7th Scholarly Week of Graduation Research Project Viva Held at FMS
In the presence of Dr. Ahmed Saif Muharram (CBT), the 1st session of the 7th scholarly week was held at Faculty of Medical Sciences at Al-Nasser University on Mon, 29 July 2019. During the week’s viva voce sessions, students graduating from Pharmacy, Medical Labs, Nursing, and Community Health departments in the academic year 2018/2019 would turn up to defend their graduation research projects.
In his speech, Dr. Muharram stressed that graduation researches are the outcome of five-year study within the bachelor degree. Research groups, in his words, can show up in their work the theoretical and practical knowledge they acquired. He valued the efforts made by supervisors, students, faculty members, and administrative staff to bring into light such excellent researches.
For his part, Dr. Abdulkareem Ezzumor (FMS Dean) appreciated the University’s interest in and support for scientific research. He noted to the quantum leap recently achieved with the establishment of a scientific research lab that will be equipped with the necessary devices for students to do their experiments inside FMS rather than resorting to external labs.
The viva voce sessions include fifteen scientific researches tackling various practical topics that touch upon the health actuality of the community. They also represent a valuable addition to the fields of pharmacy, medical labs, nursing, and community health.
According to Dr. Shawqi Eloudi (an assistant professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy at Faculty of Medicine, Thamar University), some of the presented studies can be eligible for publication in peer-reviewed journals due to the considerable efforts have been made. He pointed out to Al-Nasser University’s thankful interest in scientific research that can be evidenced by students’ qualitative researches.
The 1st viva voce session was held in the grand hall of Faculty of Medical Sciences in the presence of heads of departments, faculty and staff members, and a crowd of students from all programs. The viva voce sessions are scheduled to go on over the next week.
