ANU Partakes in 4th Winter Sport Tournament Opening Ceremony

In the presence of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, Al-Nasser University took part in the opening ceremony of the 4th winter sport tournament organized by Wahdat-Sana’a Club. The ceremony was held at the Club’s playground on Monday, 22 February 2021.

About 2800 athletes of variable ages are to participate in the competition that includes club football and septet soccer. Participants include the districts, universities, orgs, companies, orphanages, foreign communities, schools, and old clubs.

The opening ceremony took place in the presence of Minister of Youth & Sports, Minister of Waqf and Guidance, Deputy of the Capital Secretariat, Chairman of Wahdat-Sana’a Club, Deputy Minister of Youth for Sports Sector, and a number of clubs’ chairmen, sport celebrities, and a large number of fans. Al-Nasser delegate to the event included the participant team in addition to Mr. Murshid Al-Aghberi (Chairman of Human Resources Dept.) and Mr. Abdurrahman Al-Hamadi (the IT Technician).

The event contained many shows by the participant gamesters and teams, folklore presentations and an operate on Wahdat-Sana’a Club. Ms. Ahlam Buraihi, Deputy Minister of Youth for Media Sector, delivered a speech that noted to the significance of such sport forums in enhancing the youth and athletes’ gifts and capabilities. She praised Wahdat-Sana’a Club’s efforts in organizing such a forum in addition to other activities that help activate the national sports.

For his part, Mr. Mohammed Sadeq, Vice Chairman of Wahdat-Sana’a Club, pointed out that the 4rth tournament us part of a successful series that testify to the Club’s commitment to the various sports and their affiliates. It gives athletes of variable ages a chance to practice their hobbies and talents in competition. It, moreover, embodies the national integrity since participants come from different Yemeni governorates.
