Workshop Organized by DQAC on “Effective Evaluation Strategies and Exam Paper Formulation”

In the presence of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, a workshop was organized by Development and Quality Assurance Center at Al-Nasser University. Held under the slogan “Effective Evaluation Strategies and Exam Paper Formulation”, the workshop took place on Thursday, 6 Jan 2022 at the University’s headquarter.

Prof Tahish gave a speech at the outset of the event in which he greeted the participants and stressed that Al-Nasser University could prove its merit achieve its goals in offering educational services in compliance to the quality and accreditation standards despite the hard times that the entire nation is undergoing. He noted that the faculty members represent the University’s assets whose instructional efforts are highly appreciated since they contributed to the excellent outcomes that hold Al-Nasser’s name high in labor market.

For his part, Prof Omar Eshuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, pointed out that the University’s agenda is crowded with many training plans target the administrative and academic staff. The present event is part of that agenda. He also referred to the last workshop conducted under the slogan “Effective University Teaching Strategies” which, along with the present one, can enrich the faculty members’ experience. He presented his sincere thanks to the Chancellor for taking interest and giving support to implementing the Center’s plan so as to promote learning quality.

The workshop’s key lecture was delivered by Dr. Helal Elqubati, the evaluation expert. He tackled such concepts as evaluation, its importance, principles of a good evaluation, selection standards, strategies and tools of an effective evaluation, formulating the exam paper in light of learning outcomes and specification table, and finally the instructor’s professional ethics regarding evaluation and exams.

The workshop is held in two days and targets 110 participants of the University’s faculty members. It intends to enrich the participants’ practical skills on the university efficient evaluation strategies in order to be aligned with the learning outcomes give the students a fair evaluation.

The workshop was held at the University’s headquarter in the presence of Mr. Ali Ethafani, the Secretary General. Towards its end a speech was given by Dr. fahd Elkhayat, FAFS Dean who praised the Lecturer’s excellent presentation as well as the brilliant performance of the University’s faculty members who keenly adhere to such strategies. He, moreover, thanked the Chancellor and DQAC Dean for paying attention to such learning aspects. The workshop was concluded by handing over certificates to the participants as well as Dr. Helal in appreciation of his outstanding training.
