Nursing Students Holds ‘Nursing Day’

In the presence of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, the ‘Nursing Day’ celebration was organized by Nursing students at Faculty of Medical Sciences, Al-Nasser University. The event was held on Monday, 7 March 2022, at FMS headquarter.

Addressing the audience, Prof Tahish greeted and welcome the participants. He accentuated that Al-Nasser University is keenly committed to the practical training of its students, especially in the Medical specialties since they represent the hope that would improve the national health sector. He also praised the national and social awareness felt in the students’ participations which note to their future career as angels of mercy.

For his part, Dr. Abduraqeeb Elhanani, Head of Nursing Department, noted to the leading position that Al-Nasser University occupies with its academic and scientific infrastructure. According to him, it has a sublime mission, firm academic values, and an outstanding leadership. The Nursing Department, he maintained, promotes the skills and knowledge of its students, and offers a learning environment that cultivates the students’ humanitarian and social values and improves their scientific and technical proficiency.

He addressed the students, “dear students, the priority in the medical care specialties is measured by how close that specialty is to patients and their suffering. No specialty is closer to patients than Nursing which offers medical care with a humanitarian spirit and high professionality. By joining this discipline at Al-Nasser University, you have stepped into the best medical and humanitarian profession. You are people of this nation, the lung with which it can breathe, and its presence and future. By developing your scientific and professional skills, we contribute to the national wellbeing and draw a smile of hope on its countenance.”

The event’s program comprised a number of excellent shows by the students including: a speech, a reportage of success stories for the department’s graduates, and folklore shows. The event was concluded with handing honor certificates over to participants.

The event was held in the presence of Dr. Abdulkareem Ezzumor, FMS Dean, Dr. Abduraqeeb Elhanani, Head of Nursing Department, Dr. Mohammed Eshahethi, Head of Community Health Department, faculty and staff members, and the students of all levels at Nursing Department.
