11th Scientific Conference of Graduation Research Viva Voce Held at FMS

In the presence of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, the 11th Scientific Conference of the graduation research viva voce was inaugurated at Faculty of Medical Sciences, Al-Nasser University on Tues, 26 July 2022. Taking place between July 26-28, the event is meant to do the viva voce of the graduation research projects conducted during the academic year 1442/1443 A H (2021/2022) by the graduating students at the departments of Pharmacy, Medical Labs, Nursing, and Community Health.

The Chancellor opened the conference with a visit to the research poster gallery where he listened to a detailed explanation about the posted researches by the respective groups. He was escorted by Mr. Ali Ethayfani (Secretary General), Prof Omar Eshuja (Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center), Prof Abdulkareem Ezzumor (FMS Dean), and the heads of academic departments.

In his speech, the Chancellor praised the tremendous efforts made by both the research students and supervisors which was culminated with excellent studies amounting to Master dissertations. He confirmed the University’s will to support the best researches in coordination with the boards of concern, in addition to getting them published in international refereed journals at the University’s expenses.

For his part, Prof Ezzumor, the FMS Dean, pointed out that the conference for viva sessions is held regularly at the end of each academic year by FMS in accordance with the scholarly standards and principles.

Prof Omar Eshuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, also celebrated the FMS’ outcomes noting to how every graduate can now be responsible enough to hold high the name of Al-Nasser University, prove his/her merit, and be a good representative for the University in the labor market.

The 1st day’s session comprised the viva voce of four research groups form Pharmacy Department under the supervision of Prof Abdulkareem Ezzumor, Dr. Wafa Elmath-haji, Dr. Ammar Omar, and Mr. Anees Thabit. The examination committee was membered by a panel of external and internal examiners. The presented researches tackled the following topic:

  1. Chemical Manufacture, Biological Effects, and Virtual Examination of the Derivatives of Aryl Sulphohydrazido Oxamyl Amino and Amino Acids
  2. Developing and Evaluating a New Formula of Propranolol Hydrochloride in the Form of Sublingual Pastilles.
  3. Outside Body Anti-microbe Efficiency of Sulbactam-Ceftriaxone Mixture against the Bacteria Resistant to Ceftriaxone.
  4. Lab Synergistic Effects of Amlodipine with Amikacin Medicine against Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA)

The 1st viva session was held in the Grand Hall at the FMS’ building in the presence of staff and faculty members in addition to a large number of the FMS students and their parents.
