11th Scientific Conference Viva Sessions Go on at FMS

Under the auspices of Al-Nasser University’s Board, the second session of the 11th scientific conference for 2021/2022 graduation research viva voce was held by Faculty of Medical Science. The session took place on Wed, 27 July 2022, with the participation of the students graduating from the departments of Pharmacy, Medical Labs, Nursing, and Community Health.

Today’s session comprised four Medical Labs research groups. The examiner committees consisted of the supervisors (Dr. Mukhtar Ezzumor, Dr. Abdussalam Elmekhlafi, and Dr. Amar Omar), the internal examiners (Prof Abdulkareem Ezzumor, Dr. Wafa Elmath-haji, Dr. Mukhtar Ezzumor, and Dr. Mohammed Eshahethi), and the external examiners (Dr. Mohammed Elathra’i, Dr. Amar Omar, and Dr. Anees Thabit).

According to Prof Abdulkareem Ezzumor, FMS Dean, the presented studies are variable, excellent and tackling significant issues in the field of medical labs. It turns out clearly, he added, the great efforts made by both the research groups and supervisors to achieve such scholarly works.

The research papers presented by Medical Labs students included the following topics:

  1. The Outspread Rates and Factors of the Infection Caused by Blood Donation at National Blood Transfusion & Research Center-Sana’a, Yemen
  2. The Relationship of Extra Iron to Lipidemia Disorder and Hepatic Damage with the Thalassemia Patients Dependent on Blood Transfusion at Sana’a, Yemen
  3. The Relationship of Vitamin D to the Disease Severity with Thyroid Patients in Sana’a, Yemen
  4. Impact of Hydroxyurea on Liver, Kidneys, and Blood Indications with Sickle-cell Anemia Patients Aging over 15 Years in Sana’a

Dr. Mukhtar Ezzumor, Head of Medical Labs Department, appreciated the interest of Al-Nasser University and FMS Deanship in scientific research as well as their constant will to offer any support that can help the FMS students come up with outstanding research papers.

The second viva session was held at the FMS’ Grand Hall, Al-Nasser University, in the presence of Prof Abdulkareem Ezzumor, FMS Dean, heads of departments, faculty and staff members, students from the FMS variable programs, and some family members of the Medical Labs graduating students.
