ANU Co-sponsors the 1st Conference of Academic Development & Quality Assurance

Prof. Abdullah Tahish (the Chancellor) and Dr. Anwar Masoud (Director of ANU’s Quality Unit) attended the opening session of the 1st Scientific Conference of Academic Development and Quality Assurance at Faculty of Medicine, Sana’a University on Wednesday, 28 Nov 2018. The conference that Al-Nasser University co-sponsored was organized by the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance under the slogan, “Quality: A Way towards a Learned Society.”

The conference aimed to promote the values of academic development and quality assurance, to enhance the universities’ role in building a society of learning, and to bring out their role in achieving a sustainable development and satisfying the requirements of the labor market.

The themes of the conference tackled: the college education in light of quality and academic accreditation benchmarks, the outcomes of academic programs and the extent of meeting the labor market requirements, and the impact of academic development and quality standards on scientific creativity and innovation.

Dr. Anwar Masoud presents a paper in the conference about the ANU’s experience in the field of academic development and quality assurance.

Prof Tahish noted to how the ANU’s co-sponsorship of the conference, presenting a paper about its experience, and participating in the exhibition take place in implementation of its main goal concerning scientific research. They also spring from its deep conviction in quality with which the University has gone a long way the act that confirms its commitment to improving education in Yemen.

The University’s participation in the conference included showing several issues of the scientific refereed journals published by Al-Nasser University in addition to some of the students’ products that were admired by the attendees, namely  the Vice Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ali Sharaf-adeen as they testify to the ANU’s outstanding outcomes as well as the quality scientific researches that yield useful products.

Many statesmen, university chancellors, and quality-interested academicians attended the opening session of the conference, in which many universities and research centers participated. The ANU’s space in the exhibition was run by Mr. Fuad El-Badani and Dr. Nadya El-Awadhi (a superintendent in Pharmacy Department).
