5th Week Viva Sessions of Graduation Research Projects at FAFS
Under the auspices of Prof. Abdullah Tahish (the Chancellor), the 2017/2018 fifth scientific week for the graduation research projects at Faculty of Administrative and Financial Studies commenced the viva voce sessions last Saturday, Aug 4, 2018.
In his address, the ANU Chancellor noted that the research projects represent the culmination of the students’ efforts throughout their study years and the practical index of their academic attainment. The research papers mark the proper beginning to scholarly career and postgraduate studies. He moreover confirmed Al-Nasser University’s indomitable will to produce well-qualified graduates who are able to contribute effectively to their community’s wellbeing.
For his part, Dr. Mohammed El-Kuhali (FAFS Dean) pointed out that the scientific week sessions are held annually to defend and discuss the students’ scientific research and, thus, to lay the proper foundation for their postgraduate competency.
He thanked Al-Nasser University’s board that showed a keen interest in the graduates’ scientific proficiency through the direct and constant follow-up as well as attending the viva sessions. He also appreciated the faculty members’ efforts providing guidance to the students and keeping the research projects in line with the scholarly standards.
The conducted research papers were characterized by diversity in terms of topics. The research groups did their best to tackle real-life issues and suggest practical solutions. The presented research papers were evaluated by the examination committee comprising Dr. El-Kuhali (FAFS Dean), Dr. Ahmed Ezzadeen Byanouni, and Dr. Hafiz El-Zekri.
According to Dr. Byanouni (an ANU faculty member and research guide), Al-Nasser University is distinct form others by its approach to learning and the attention it pays to scientific research. Furthermore, there is a thankful imposition of the research methodology used in Master and PhD dissertations.
Finally, Dr. El-Zekri (an ANU faculty member and research guide), in a statement, noted that the research studies conducted by Al-Nasser students are likely to be Master theses. He could deduce it from the research topics, the great jobs done by students, and the University’s as well as faculty’s keenness to produce quality projects. He maintained that some of the conducted studies could reach a level of recommending practical treatments for the posed problems.
The viva session was held at ANU headquarter in the presence of Dr. Anwar Maso’ud (Director of Quality Unit), Dr. Mohammed Shawqi (Dean of Faculty of Humanities), and Mr. Salah El-Edlah (Head of Administrative Studies Department).
