ANU Hosts MPHP Seminar on Malaria Diagnosis & Treatment National Policy

Under the auspices of his highness Minister of Public Health and Population, an awareness seminar was conducted by Malaria Control National Program in the presence of Prof Abdullah Tahish (the Chancellor). Held on Sat, 8 Feb 2020, at Faculty of Medical Sciences, the seminar was jointly sponsored by International Migration Org and aimed at introducing the national policy to diagnose and treat malaria.

The Chancellor gave a speech in which he praised the efforts made by Health Care General Administration and Malaria Control National Program affiliated to Ministry of Public Health and Population. He, furthermore, stressed the significance of such educational seminars not only at the University’s but also community’s levels since everyone must identify the methods of protection against various epidemics including malaria. He noted to how Al-Nasser feels always keenly committed to support such events so as to raise the national health awareness.

Thereafter, a lecture was delivered by Dr. Mustafa Esselwi (MPHP’s Policy Director) that introduced the national policies to diagnose and treat malaria. For their part, Dr. Abdullah Bajash and Dr. Abdurrahman El-Alimi gave a practical explanation on the malaria microscope diagnosis to the Medical Labs students.

Targeting the FMS’s students, the seminar was held in the presence of Dr. Muhammed Eshahethi (Head of Community Health Dept.), Dr. Abdurraqeeb El-Hanani (Head of Nursing Dept.), Dr. Mukhtar Ezzumor (Head of Medical Labs Dept.), Dr. Lamya El-Akhali (FMS Academic Superintendent). The MPHP was represented by Dr. Abdurrahman El-Mahdi (Health Care Director) and Dr. Hayat Yonus (Coordinator of Malaria Control Program)
