FAFS Holds “How to Choose your Major” Training Session

Under the auspices of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, a training session with the slogan “How to Choose your Major” was conducted by Faculty of Administrative and Financial Studies, Al-Nasser University. The session was held on Sun, 3 Oct 2021, at the University’s headquarter.

The session was intent to develop the participants’ skills on how to choose the field of specialty based on their inclination and competencies with the help of some scientific and modern methods. The key speakers in the event were Dr. Elezi Elhetami (a member of FAFS faculty as well as of Arab Board for Consultancy, Training, and Development) and Abduraheem Salah (a member of Arab Board for Consultancy, Training, and Development).

Dr. Omar Eshuja’ (Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center) delivered a speech at the outset of the event in which he welcomed the fresher students to Al-Nasser University as well as other participants noting that joining study in the University will mark a new stage in their educational progress. The proper choice of one’s major, he maintained, would help them excel in study. He thanked the deanship of FAFS and the coordinators of the training session and wished them the best of success.

For his part, Dr. Fahd Elkhayat (FAFS Dean) confirmed the importance of the session, especially in the absence of the proper methods to determine one’s college major based on his/her competency and inclination among high school graduates. He praised the trainers’ excellent presentations and the efforts of the coordinators and participants as well. He, moreover, pointed out that Al-Nasser University is committed to offering the best educational environment that can satisfy the students’ ambitions.

Many topics were tackled in the session including: the guidelines of choosing a major; the majors that make good careers, decision making, know yourself, and discover your specialty. The workshop contained a number of group and individual activities that were enriching and interactive.

The session was held in the presence of Dr. Omar Eshuja’ (Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center), Mr. Ali Ethayfani (Secretary General), Dr. Fahe Elkhayat (FAFS Dean), Mr Salah Eladlah (Head of Administrative Studies Department), and Ms. Sahar Elareeqi (the Academic Superintendent).
