Al-Nasser Team 1st Qualifier for Universities Football League 2nd Round

As part of the second-week competition of the Universities Football League organized by Wahdat-Sana’a Club, Al-Nasser team qualified for the second round by beating the team of Future university 4/2 in the most exciting game of the fourth group. Held in the playground of Wahdat-Sana’a on Wed, 30 Jan 2019, the game started with an obvious control by Al-Nasser whose player Mohammed Khurais could score a goal in a follow-up to Emad El-Kumaim’s kick that was hit by the Future’s goalkeeper. The bounced ball found its way to Khurais’ foot who could score the game’s first goals. The second goal took place due to a fault by the Future’s defense. The excellent ball pass of the starring player Mohammed Jamal was well used by Yosuf El-Ra’ei who scored the third goal. As a result, the first half of the match ended with Al-Nasser’s advance by 3/0.

The second half started with a goal for the Future after a great pressure to tie the result. Mohammed Jamal, however, exploited the progress of the Future’s goalkeeper to score the fourth goal with a falling ball. The Future team could score a second goal toward the final moments of the game that ended with a 4/2 victory for Al-Nasser. The result raises Al-Nasser’s balance to 6 points and, thus, ensures its qualifying for the second round at a time the competition is still very hot amid the teams of the other groups.

Al-Nasser team is to play its next match against the team of  Dar-es-Salam University in the same playground on Tuesday, 5 Feb 2019.
