Civil Engineering Students had Field Training at PFRB’s Central Lab

Organized by Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering & Computer Sciences, the field training program for fourth-level students started on Sat, 9 Feb 2019. The eight-day training program takes place at the Central Lab of Public Foundation for Roads & Bridges.

The training program includes conducting a number of experiments within the subject Road Engineering. The experiments which are essential for designing an American asphalt mix include: qualitative gravity, debris absorption, Los Angeles measurement of stone erosion, sand equivalent test, asphalt-debris cohesiveness, penetration tests, viscosity, asphalt ignition & combustion, and finally designing an asphalt mix using lab substances.

According to Dr. Najeeb El-Shura’I (Head of Civil Engineering Department), both  Al-Nasser University and FECS are keenly committed to offering the best theoretical as well as practical learning to students. Noting  to the coordination with the Labs of Faculty of Engineering, Sana’a University as well as PFRB, he confirms that the training program is meant to enrich the students’ professional skills in their major.
