Community Health Students Visit Sana’a Cleaning Project Site

Targeting students of 2^nd and 4^th levels, a field visit was conducted on Mon, 27 Jan 2020, by Community Health Department, Faculty of Medical Sciences, to the premises of Sana’a Cleaning Project.

Accompanied throughout their visit by Dr. Mohammed Esh-shahethi (Head of Community Health Department) the students were received by a number of the Project’s staff members. Thereafter, they toured the project’s sites at Assir to identify the cleaning equipment and machines. The Project’s technicians introduced the students to the types of solid waste as well as the methods of collection and disposal. The students also visited the Azraqayn City Dump to learn how waste is disposed and the measures taken to protect neighboring people and areas against the environmental risks caused by waste and leftovers.

According to Dr. Esh-shahith, the visit aims to link the theoretical classes with their own practical aspects so as to enrich the students’ professional experience and enhance the knowledge they acquired. He thanked the Al-Nasser University’s board and FMS deanship for supporting the practical learning.
