DQAC Concludes “Effective Evaluation Strategies and Exam Paper Formulation” Workshop

In the presence of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, the “Effective Evaluation Strategies and Exam Paper Formulation” Workshop was concluded on Monday, 10 Jan 2022, at Faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences, Haddah. The workshop was organized by Development and Quality Assurance Center.

In the opening speech, Prof Tahish noted that Al-Nasser University offers its academic services in accordance with three major objectives: learning, research, and community service. The present workshop serves two objectives, i.e. learning and community since its ultimate goal is to help produce competent graduates who are capable of thinking, expressing, discussing, reasoning, and contributing to their acquired knowledge. Such an outcome would help community as the competent professionals play a great role in the national development and wellbeing.

About 110 participants of Al-Nasser faculty members were targeted by the workshop which was presented by the well-known expert in evaluation and assessment, Dr. Helal Elqubati. It tackled such concepts as evaluation and its key terms, its importance in university instruction, principles of a good evaluation, selection standards, strategies and tools of an effective evaluation, formulating the exam paper in light of learning outcomes and specification table, and finally the instructor’s professional ethics regarding evaluation and exams.

According to Prof Omar Eshuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Dean, the present workshop is part of a complementary series that the Center carries out to enrich the faculty members’ experience. The fundamental goal is to enhance the quality of the outcome so as to produce graduates whose proficient capacities can be eminently distinct in the labor market.

The event was concluded by handing certificates over to participants in addition to the lecturer, Dr. Elqubati in appreciation of his excellent performance.
