First Aid Training Course Concluded at Medical Lab Dept.

Organized by ANU in collaboration with Sehati Health Training Org, a training course on first aid was concluded on Thursday, 6 Dec 2018, at Medical Lab Department, Faculty of Medical Sciences.

The five-day course targeted the second-level students at Medical Lab Department. The training program tackled the fundamentals of first aid: checking up the patient, steps of first aid, and the basics of life-saving.  Besides, it focused on how to deal with such various emergencies as choking, bleeding, poisoning, burns, broken bone, trauma, drowning, injuries, CPR, etc. in addition to the actions a first aider is supposed to take in emergencies and the contents of the first aid kit.

According to Dr. Mukhtar Ezzumor (Head of Medical Lab Department), the first aid training program is being held annually for second-level students who study the same subject in the first semester. Training is meant to make the subject’s theoretical and practical aspects complement with each other. It also aims at developing the students quick response to emergency cases so as to save the patient’s life by giving the proper first aid.

A party was conducted at the end of the course in the presence of Dr. Abdulkareen Ezzumor (FMS Dean), Dr. Mukhtar Ezzumor (Head of Medical Lab Department), Dr. Yasser El-Math-haji (Head of Pharmacy Department), Dr. Ahmed Mahoob (Director of Research & Training), Mr. Fuad El-Badani (Student Affair Officer at FMS), and the staff and training members of Sehati Org.
