FMS Inaugurates 12th Scientific Conference for 1444 AH Graduation Research Viva Voce

In the presence of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, the 12th scientific conference of graduation research viva voce was inaugurated on Sat, 22 July 2023, at Faculty of Medical Sciences. Taking place between July 22-25, the conference includes the viva voce sessions of the graduation research works presented by the 1444 AH (2022/2023) graduating students of Pharmacy, Medical Labs, Nursing, and Public Health.

Delivering the opening speech, the Chancellor greeted the participants and praised the efforts exerted by the FMS staff to achieve such a distinct success. He also expressed his sense of satisfaction over the FMS outcomes and the excellent research projects in particular, thanks to the research groups and supervisors. He noted to the University’s willingness to support the most prominent researches by forwarding them to the concerned bodies in the labor market as well as getting them published in international, refereed journals.

The Chancellor, moreover, confirmed Al-Nasser’s commitment to offering an education service that complies with the standards of Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance. In due course, he maintained, the University has applied for the academic accreditation for the FMS programs and is seeking to obtain the international accreditation. The Chancellor concluded his speech with extending congratulations to Al-Nasser graduates who gained the professional license from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties at KSA. Such a success, he stressed, is a credit for the University and evidence of its excellent outcomes and reliable programs.

For his part, Prof Omar Eshuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, congratulated the FMS graduates and staff members on harvesting today the fruit of their hard work. He noted that the University is progressing and will never spare an effort to qualify its students well with knowledge and skills toward producing graduates who can compete powerfully in the labor market. He also wished that graduates would carry on their self-learning after graduation so as to keep pace with updates in their field of specialty.

For his part, Dr. Adnan Elqubati, Head of Nutrition Department, pointed that FMS holds a scientific conference regularly in the end of every academic year in order to let students display the final product of their study. He also explained how the scientific research represents one of the University’s main goals through which it can contribute to the community’s wellbeing.

The viva voce session held today comprised five research groups in Pharmacy, Medical Labs, and Community Health. They included the following topics:

In Pharmacy:

  1. Synthesis and the Study of the Effect of Hydrozidoxamolamino Acid with NSAID Derivatives.
  2. Development and Evaluation of New Formulation of Dual Purpose Dapoxetine HCI and Vardenafil HCI as Film Coated Tablets for the Treatment of Premature Ejaculation and Erectile Dysfunction.

In Medical Labs:

  1. Availability and Accessibility of WHO Essential Medicinal List of Anticancer Drugs in Sana’a City, Yemen.
  2. Incidence of Epstein – Barr Virus Among Yemeni Women with Breast Cancer Using Monoclonal Antibodies for Latent Membrane Protein1 (LMP1).

In Community Health:

  1. Impact of Using Social Media on the Turnout for Baby Routine Vaccination from Parents’ viewpoint in Sana’a City, Yemen.

The inaugural ceremony included unveiling the research poster gallery. The 1st viva session was held in the FMS grand hall in the presence of Prof Mohammed Esharjabi, the Chancellor’s Counsellor for Academic Accreditation and Supervisor of Computer Programs, Mr. Ali Ethayfani, Secretary General, Prof Omar Eshuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, Prof Abdulkareem Ezzumor, FMS Dean, heads of departments, staff and faculty members, and a big gathering of students of the different programs.
