I S Department Holds Competition on Project Management

A competitive activity on Project Management Course was organized by Information Systems Department at Faculty of Administrative and Financial Studies. The 3^rd level students were engaged in the event held at the University’s headquarter on Thurs, 17 March 2022.

The competition was meant to promote the students’ scientific and research skills as well as to motivate their innovation toward doing development projects and dealing with many real-life problems.

According to FAFS Dean, Dr. Fahd Elkhayat, conducting such a competition for the IS students would sharpen their skills and help them do useful graduation projects later on properly and competently. Graduation projects, he maintained, give students a practical opportunity to practice their ideas and skills over several fields. They also help them determine the exact professional fields for future career. He noted that the best graduation projects are those which can offer practical solutions for real problems. They represent the first step in the students’ professional life as well as in actually contributing to the community’s sustainable development.

For his part, Dr. Abdullah Rashid, the course’s instructor, pointed out that Al-Nasser University has got a distinct vision that the entire staff is dedicated to its implementation. As for FAFS, it has got a deanship whose efficient work is evident in such activities which mark the FAFS and its students as excellent. He stressed that the activity is a seed that should be cultivated to become a fruitful tree of which the University, the national higher education, and the nation in general would be proud.

The activity’s program included presentations of the 3^rd level students’ projects which were evaluated to select the best three projects for winners. Dr. Rashid was honoured for his valuable contribution to the success of the Department’s educational process. Ms. Nada Eljabali was also honoured for her dedication to job at FAFS. The activity witnessed a considerable presence by the faculty and staff members in addition to the IS Students’ enthusiastic interaction.
