As part of Al-Nasser University’s interest in creating a study environment enhanced with various educational aids, a medical plant nursery was set up for the FMS students to use in their research and applied studies.

According to Dr. Yasser El-Madhaji, Head of Pharmacy Department, the nursery is of significant use to Pharmacy students who can identify the different types of medical plants as well as the mechanism of extracting and producing the various medicines according to the internationally recognized concentrations and ratios. He offered his thanks to the ANU board for the efforts in establishing the nursery and immediate supervision over launching the required equipment and  plants.

For her part, Dr. Wedad Mansour, Instructor of Medical Drugs noted to the importance of the nursery as a new and distinct step by ANU. It is an incentive that motivates students to research plants so as to make a scientific use of them.  She stressed the students’ valuable contribution to the field as the contemporary researches tend generally to apply the natural products with less side effects and more benefits. It is noteworthy that Yemen is rich with various natural plants in need of research and exploration, not to mention the great historical heritage of herbal medication.
