Minister of Higher Education Inaugurates Faculty of Dentistry & Initiates 1444-AH Academic Year at Al-Nasser University

The inaugural ceremony for Faculty of Dentistry was held on Sat, 27 August 2022, in the presence of Mr. Hussein Hazeb, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Minister also officially initiated the new academic year 1444 AH (2022/2023) which coincided with many scientific and training activities organized by Al-Nasser University.

The inaugural ceremony took place in the presence of Dr. Ali Sharaf-Eddeen, Vice Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ghaleb Elqanes, the Deputy Minister for Educational Institution Sector, Mr. Mohammed Elwadei, Director of Educational Institutions at the Judicial Guard Office. The Minister along with other guests were received upon arrival by Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, Prof Mohammed Esharjabi, the Chancellor’s Councilor for Academic Accreditation and Computer Programs Supervisor, Mr. Ali Ethayfani, the Secretary General, Prof Omar Eshuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, deans of faculties and heads of departments.

In his speech, the Minister of Higher Education presented his congratulations on the inauguration of Faculty of Dentistry, launching the new academic programs (Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Sciences, and Nutrition), and the beginning of the new academic year at Al-Nasser University. He appreciated the efforts made by the University’s board to overcome difficulties and prove its competitive merits in higher education. He also noted to the continuous progress of Pharmacy Department as well as its excellent outcome who could produce pharmaceuticals under the guidance of Prof Abdulkareem Ezzumor, FMS Dean. Inviting the other universities to follow Al-Nasser’s example, the Minister wished the University the best of success.

For his part, Prof Tahish greeted the guests and confirmed in his speech that Al-Nasser had took an oath of being committed to the national wellbeing and offering the best educational services to students who stand for the hope of a better future. In this light, the University has always been committed to providing the best learning in spite of all challenges. Its graduates in all disciplines could leave a remarkable imprint in the labor market proving the successful fulfilment of that chief goal. The graduation research projects testify to their competency in scientific research. Moreover, Prof Tahish pointed out that Al-Nasser gave priority to community service through offering its educational services to all social classes in spite of the difficult circumstances the nation is undergoing.

As part of the event’s program, Minister of Higher Education inaugurated Faculty of Dentistry at Al-Nasser University and praised its well-equipped labs. In addition he toured along with other guests the exhibition prepared by the students of the academic departments to introduce their respective disciplines as well as display the posters of the graduation projects prepared by the University’s graduates. The event was held at the University’s headquarter in the presence of the staff and faculty members and a large number of students.
