Open Day Organized by Department of English

In the presence of Prof Abdullah Tahish, the Chancellor, the Open Day activity was organized by the students of Department of English at Faculty of Humanities. The event was held at the University’s headquarter on Mon, 6 Feb 2023.

In a speech delivered on the occasion, Prof Omar Eshuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, praised the efforts made by Department of English in organizing such activities which exhibit the students’ language skills on the one hand and note to the University’s continuous support to its academic programs on the other.

For his part, Dr. Munir Al-Aghberi, Head of Department of English, extended words of thanks to the University’s board for supporting the Department and its activities. Expressing his appreciation to the students of the different levels who actively participate in the activity, he highlighted the importance of the Translation profession as a mediator between the variable cultures and civilizations.  Dr. Al-Aghberi also pointed out that the Department has begun the process of assessing and upgrading the Translation program so as to ensure more excellent outcomes. He concluded his speech with stating his sense of pride over the proficient graduates as well as upcoming graduates of the program.

Dr. Mohammed Shawqi, Dean of Faculty of Humanities, appreciated the University’s support to Department of English and Faculty of Humanities. He, besides, praised the Translation students’ excellent performance and high skills displayed throughout the event.

The event’s program included a number of entertaining shows, games, and purposeful short comedy by which the students demonstrated their skills in English language and translation. The event was concluded with handing honor certificates over to the 4^th level students for their active participation in the Department’s activities.

The event was honored with the company of Mr. Ali Ethayfani, Secretary General, Prof Omar Eshuja, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Center, Dr. Fahd Elkhayat, FAFS Dean, Dr. Mohammed Shawqi, Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Qais Ennuzaili, FECS Vice Dean, Dr. Munir Al-Aghberi, Head of Department of English, some faculty and staff members, and the Department’s students as well as their families.
