Pharmacy Students Conclude Second-Semester Training Program

Pharmacy final-year students have concluded the Second-Semester field-training program organized by the Research and Training Dept. at the Faculty of Medical Sciences.
The program carried out by the students included Global Pharma and Pharmaceutical factories.  Students reported that they were trained to do many experiments in producing and manufacturing various medicines that fall within the theoretical syllabus taught to them at the University.

In the last two visits to the factories, the students got acquainted with the various depts., mechanisms, and functions involved in the pharmaceutical production process.
At R& D Dept., students did some experiments to produce Clarithromycin  used as an antibiotic and they subjected the product to tests.

At Drug Production Dept., students experimented with producing tablets as well as cough and fever syrups. They, besides, identified how various antibiotics and ointments are produced.

At Drug Control Dept.,  they got familiar with the different devices that make up the department such as Fusion Meter, Drying Ovens , Color Separators, and HBLC which tests the ratio of active substances in medicine.
At the end of the program, students received training certificates from the respective factories.  They, in turn, thanked the factories’ administrations, Dr. Kamal Alghazi and Mrs. Nabeelah Almatari, for facilitating the training process which enabled them to gain experience and practical skills in their areas of specialization.
They, in addition, expressed their sense of appreciation to the University’s administration, namely Dr. Abdulkarim Alzumor, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences , Dr. Ahmad Mahub, Director of Research and Training Dept. and the program’s  supervisor.
