Students of Lab &Public Health Departments had last week a number of the scientific visits organized by Research &Training Department at Faculty of Medical Sciences.

Laboratory junior students visited the Central Laboratory for Blood Transfusion & Research. There they got briefed on the Lab’s mechanism and process: reception of donors; methods and devices of blood conservation; and transfusion.

Another visit was conducted by the Lab evening-class students to El-Awlaqi Labs where they identified its work mechanism and got trained on how to deal with the different medical equipment.

In addition, Public Health students visited the National Foundation for Standards and Quality where they got introduced to its history and various departments. The students could also have a look at the labs by which the Foundation can keep tight control over the products’ quality.

Such visits are meant to enhance the students’ practical skills as well as implement the theoretical learning through field training.

The students felt satisfied with the practical experience they derived especially on how to deal with the different medical devices and situations they might encounter in their future careers.
