Viva Voce Week Held at Faculty of Humanities

In the presence of Dr. Ahmed Saif Muharram (CBT) and Dr. Abdullah Tahish (the Chancellor), the 1^st session of the research projects viva voce for the academic year 2018/2019 was held at Faculty of Humanities on Sat, 27 July 2019.

In the 1^st session, students of English Department presented a number of brilliant research projects including:

• Translation Guide App for University Students.
• Discourse Functions of Reference Pronouns.
• Requesting Strategies across Cultures.

At the outset of the session, Prof Tahish delivered a speech in which he confirmed that graduation research projects represent the outcome of the students’ efforts throughout the bachelor program as they evidence the practical skills students have acquired. He noted that Al-Nasser University did its best to produce well qualified cadre able to prove its merit in the labor market.

For his part, Dr. Munir Al-Aghberi (Head of English Department) pointed out that the current year research projects were distinct and supervised by competent faulty members. The research group presentations and defense were satisfactory as well. His ultimate word to the graduates was that they have to do their best and apply the skills they possess to prove their merit in the labor market and represent their university very well.

Dr. Radwan Esharif (an instructor and supervisor at English Department) noted that the research projects of the English Department at Al-Nasser University were qualitative and selective. Some research studies can be hardly found in other local and regional universities. Such achievements reflect the keen interest of the University in having outstanding students who are capable of making excellent performance.

Faculty of Humanities will carry on the viva voce sessions during the present week for graduates from Departments of Islamic Studies and Public Relations.
